Valentine's Day...In Mexico!!!

Well this year Kade and I decided to spend V-Day in Mexico along with our good friends the Powell’s. It was so much fun that if I wrote down everything we did it would be way too long to read. Therefore, I will try and summarize all that we did. On our first full day Kade and Dave went scuba diving while Cheryl and I spent a very relaxing morning lying out on the beach. The guys where back before we knew it so we were then off to do some snorkeling. I love to snorkel but it takes me a minute to get used to all the fish that don't give a care in the world that you are there. After snorkeling we had fun playing on the beach, lying in hammocks, and as you can see enjoying some refreshment. :) The second day was Valentine's Day and Kade and Dave again went scuba diving but this time Cheryl and I went along for a fun boat ride, which is the day I got fried. Good thing I got a tan so that when I got home I could cover it all up because it is cold and snowy! Anyway, we later went shopping and spent most of the day downtown. Sunday was all play day. We rented a jeep and that was an adventure. Kade loved every minute and now of course he wants a jeep. We went and explored some Mayan ruins and then Kade had to find some dirt trail to go down, why, because we were in a jeep of course. I think he would have continued on further but the rental insurance covered everything but tires, rims, and mirrors and lets just say this jeep didn't start out with the best tires in the world, that and we didn't even have a spare either. The rest of the day we found a beach and played in the water and then went into town for some eats and drinks. Oh, and I did manage to find Red Bull there and get some wiiings! We had so much fun and it was fun to have good friends with us. It was the perfect way to spend Valentine's Day! I am hoping now that Kade is certified scuba he will be more willing to go to the beach. :)

New Year's and Christmas

New Year's First: So I thought I would talk about New Year's and then Christmas. Last year we kind of started a tradition going to the Alaskin Inn that is up Ogden Canyon. We love it because you get your own private little cabin. Kimber loved the jetted tub and anytime we started filling it up she would start to try to take her clothes off so she could get in. Kimber also loved playing and climbing in anything she could New Year's Eve was very relaxing, we went and had dinner at the TimerMine that is located at the bottom of the canyon and then vegged out the rest of the night in our private cabin. Kade and I realized then that we are starting to get old. By 11:15 we were both asleep but both woke up a minute to midnight just long enough to say Happy New Years and fall back asleep. Now for Christmas. So Christmas has come and gone, boy that went fast, 2 months of preparing and then gone in a second. Christmas this year was a lot of fun. I think my favorite part was playing Santa Clause. The night before I went out of town we dropped Kimber off at her Grandparents and then Kade and I did some shopping at Toys R Us. I have to admit it was hard to stick to a budget because I kept seeing so many things that I knew Kimber would love, but I was strong and we even came in under budget. :) Christmas Eve Kade put together a red tricycle and we put a big bow on it. Then Christmas morning Kimber came down the stairs and got so excited to see all the presents. She immediately went to her new princess chair and sat down and started opening presents. She would get so excited and kept saying "ooooo." She eventually started getting tired of opening her presents and just wanted what was inside so she turned to her mom for some assistance. We did spoil our little girl just a little bit. She got some books, her chair, bike, new baby and stroller, and of course some jewelry. She is quite the little girly girl. Kimber wasn't the only one that got spoiled, Kade went over the top this year for me as well. Not only did I get the cutest coat ever, but also a new bike and little chart to go behind it for Kimber to sit in. If only the snow would melt a little I could go try it out. He also felt bad for me when I lost my ipod in Dallas and replaced it with a new one. Christmas was a busy day for us because we started at Kade's parents, then went to my parents, then back to Kade's parents because his brother Zak, who is on a mission, was calling home. We then went back to my parents for dinner, and then finally home. It wouldn't be so bad if our parents didn't live 40 minutes away from each other, but it's all part of the Christmas season and we always have a great time at the parents houses, even though it was a blizzard all day. Playing with Kasia at the Hanks' House Kimber and Katie at Crowthers' Kimber Meeting Santa Clause for the first time.

Kimber and the Snow

Ok, so this might be a little old but life is crazy and I don't get to blog as much as I would like. I thought I would just post a few pictures of Kimber with her first real snow experience. We haven't played in the snow too much on the count of which there really hasn't been that much, but we did get to play in it a little. Getting ready to go outside Ready to go back inside :)
